The Mayor's Page

Hello and Welcome From the Great Village of Edgerton, Ohio!

My name is Lance Bowsher and my first term as Mayor began on January 5, 2004.  I am very excited about the opportunity to serve this community and I can't wait to learn about the responsibilities of my office.  One thing I know for sure, we have an impressive state-of-the-art Fire Department with the finest equipment, unique among towns our size.  Our excellent Police Department even has a K-9 unit, named Shadow, for tracking anything from a lost child to a lost wallet.

In support of a strong desire to grow and prosper, our farmers, commercial business owners, retailers and industrialists work together for the benefit of Edgerton.  Their personal and business alliances with the community are strong.  What we don't have locally in the way of large chain stores or fast food chains, we certainly have access to elsewhere in Williams County within a few minutes' drive, yet many of our residents choose to stay right here for everything they need.  Our residents know where they feel secure and can enjoy the peace and quiet of being far away from big-city crime, noise and other metropolitan problems - Edgerton, Ohio.

We have carefully retained our "Small Town America" atmosphere and values but also have a growing and bustling industrial side to us as well.  Because we are located at the intersection of U.S. Route 6 and Ohio Route 49, as well as enjoy service from Consolidated Railroad, shipping transportation is plentiful.  Route 49 also sends you straight up to the Ohio Turnpike in short order.  Our utilities are abundant and just simply "cheap" for all consumers in comparison to our surrounding area, so the bottom-line figures for our industrial customers are very favorable.

If you aren't already here, I invite you to come to Edgerton, Ohio in person, whether you're looking for residential, commercial or industrial peace of mind.  Edgerton, Ohio offers plenty of room to expand to your fullest potential, whatever that may be, and we want to help you do so.  Day to day operations are handled by our excellent administration staff.  There isn't anything they haven't been able to handle.  Feel free to call them and see how helpful they really are.  When you're in town, stop by Town Hall and ask for our Village Administrator, Dale A. Mathys or e-mail me at Mayor Lance L. Bowsher.  I'd enjoy talking with you and showing you all the benefits of life in Edgerton, Ohio.

Thanks for spending this time and I hope to see you soon!

Sincerely,

Mayor Lance L. Bowsher
Edgerton, OH
